In a hockey sense it was reminiscent f the big expansion of the National Hockey League in 1967.
So much was unveiled on this 9th of September – new nicknames, logos, merchandising and more,

It was very interesting how in the first few hours I experienced a range of emotions. By the end of the day, I came to better appreciate the scope of the task at hand. As that happened I also came to appreciate that notwithstanding the excitement of the day, this would continue to be a work in progress.
This fact made me better able to take everything into account – that there were some winners, some not so much and some in the middle.
